So 2021 initiated 3 days ago already. WOW! Tell me this wasn't quick? As many have said, 2020 taught them so much to appreciate about life. In March of 2020 I delivered my son who is now 9 months old. I never thought my second or any child I hoped for came in a deadly pandemic time but here we are. I can definatley say this was and continues to be a scary time for me. First of all being pregnant, at high risk individual who has experienced a deadly virus MRSA a few years back went into delivery the month that Covid19 Pandemic hit the hardest. At the time of delivery I remember I was only able to have my husband in the delivery room, that alone was something to be grateful for because going through delivery is not something I or any mother should go through alone.
A few days went by and unfortunately we could not leave the hospital due to my son having jaundice. For those of you unfamiliar of what jaundice is, it is a yellow discoloration of a newborn baby's skin and eyes. Infant jaundice occurs because the baby's blood contains an excess of bilirubin (bil-ih-ROO-bin), a yellow pigment of red blood cells.(Mayo Clinic)
Finally, after what was 4 nights in the hospital felt like forever we were so excited to get home to our 2 year old daughter, so that she could meet her newborn brother. That day was one to remember...
Days past by and as a mother I already knew times would be difficult before they became better. With my son, it felt a lot different than when I first delivered my daughter 2 years ago. He was and is to this day a needy baby but to me the neediness of him does not bother me at all and I love him just as much as I love my daughter although it is a bit exhausting especially working full time. Working full time and being a mother of a 2 year old and a 9 month old will be another blog for reads, but for now we will keep that on the short side. (Lol)
Moving along today is January 3rd, 2021 and I am hopeful for an amazing year and hope to stick with writing to you all about life in Cali, life as a mother and life as a mother working remotely a full time job. Additionally, I hope to write about fun exciting things happening in this life of mine. Get to know me in the next blog.
